Hillside Villa
Hillside Villa Oxford is a striking contemporary home in the Vale of White Horse, replacing an uninspiring Dutch-style cottage. Designed in collaboration with Anderson Orr Architects, the client’s vision was to create a bright, modern residence with seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. Key requirements included high-end audio throughout the home and garden, intelligent lighting control for all areas, automated window dressings in the bedrooms, a dedicated cinema room with luxury seating, fast and robust Wi-Fi along with a future-proofed wired network, smart heating control for individual zones, and advanced security with seamless integration.
Lighting
RAKO lighting was selected for the main areas, providing intuitive scene control and timeclock functions. This eliminated the need for multiple wall dimmers, preserving the home’s clean, modern aesthetics. Residents can easily adjust lighting to suit any occasion, all with a single touch.
Network
The home was future-proofed with a comprehensive wired network infrastructure, taking full advantage of the gigabit incoming line. A meshed RUCKUS Wi-Fi system ensures seamless, high-speed connectivity throughout the property, allowing uninterrupted streaming and smart home management from any room.
Heating Control
HEATMISER smart heating control was installed across the property, enabling precise adjustment of each individual zone. Residents can manage temperatures via room stats or the intuitive Neo App, ensuring optimal comfort and efficiency year-round.
Multi-Room Audio
Monitor Audio ceiling speakers from the Controlled Performance range were installed in many rooms, each with its own back box to optimize bass performance. All audio zones are wired back to a central rack and powered by SONOS Amps, delivering crisp, high-fidelity sound throughout the home.
Cinema Room
A sophisticated home cinema was created, featuring luxury tiered seating and a state-of-the-art JVC projector with a 4m 2.35:1 screen. Audio is delivered by a full Dolby Atmos 9.2.4 ARTCOUSTIC system, providing an experience that rivals—and often surpasses—commercial cinemas. Whether it’s the latest blockbuster or a major sporting event, the system immerses viewers in every moment.
